weight
Anyone have any idea what the weight of a
89 190 hp mercuiser 4 cyl engine is |
fully dressed from pulleys to coupler? I'd guess 425 lbs

Thanks Smoke i am trying to figure out if me and somefriends are going to be able to lift this thing out of my van or not, its on a skid
|
depends on if y'all are twigboy's or cornfed
lol 4 guys should be able to handle it fairly easily.... Consider getting an 8' 4x4 and chaining it to the top of the engine... two guys in front and two in back.... that keeps anyone from ever being under the engine. you COULD also set up a ramp of sorts and slide it out |

sliding idea sounds good thanks guys.

Cherry picker boom into the van, pick it up, drive the van out from under it, lower it to the ground or onto a dolly. Done.
|
agree with the picker 100%... I was going on the assumption that he didn't have one.
On the ramp. If you do that the ramp MUST be solidly attached to the van or it will fall. |

i wont have the boom till the day i do the install and i have to pick up the motor a week or so prior to that. and i will be picking it up in my work van that i need for work . so i'll just have to figure it out. but good suggestions guys

Shame you live so far from NJ. You could have borrowed mine....but by the time you got to me you could have rented one for the cost of the gas you'd have to spend to get here and back twice. Still, if you need one you're welcome to borrow mine.
