I have a 1988 Wellcraft Deep V Step Lift Cuddy 20'. It has an OMC SeaDrive that is fully functional. The hydraulic steering cylinder has been rebuilt, motor has new power pack, timer base, rectifier, ignition coils, spark wires and plugs. The compression is 120 on three cylinders and 110 on the other. The lower unit has new water pump and new fluid. It also has new control cables to shifter. It sits on a aluminum tandem axle magic loader trailer. I can text or email pics (912)six six zero-2500. $3500 or make me an offer we need the money .

Sweet!

If his guage is accurate, that engine is getting pretty tired. It should have 140-145 pounds of compression on it. Mine had 90-110 on it when I got it and still ran decent, but when I pulled it down I couldn't believe it still ran and was as loose as it was.

This is my boat we are trying to get a down payment together(buying a house). I was told that the compression was excellent by a fellow that owned a dealership(I am not very knowledgeable in that area, so just took him at his word). I have an extra engine and plenty of extra parts that go along with it. You can call me and make an offer or email me. I just need to liquidate this as soon as i can. Thanks for posting this Bradford.

Ferm, I haven't seen any OMC loopers with that much compression, I know on the mercs we mill the heads to get 140 psi, anything above 145 we start running race gas or octane booster, on the 3.0l mercs, 135 is about max before the expensive gas, most of the OMC loopers I mess with show around 120, could just be my gauge or it could be the thick head gaskets

I know mine is 155 on 3 differrent guages, and I've checked a few other 140 LOOPERS and they all checked out at 135-145 on my guage. The V-4 90 degree loopers don't have idle reliefs like teh V-6's have, so they have alot higher compression than there bigger counterparts. I know the 94+ V-6's get 110-120, but the V-4 should be a bit higher. Mine ran at 110, but I never could get it to idle right until I rebuilt it and got my compression back up to 140(then I opened it back up and ported it a bit and decked teh heads and got it up to 155, still ran great on 87 octane gas though at 19 degrees of timing).
