New Gauges - Installation Suggestions
 

I will try to post a better picture.
I have two new 3 3/8" diameter Smartcraft Gauges to install.
The holes in the boat as originally equipped has one 3 3/8" hole and four smaller 2 1/8" holes. I have lots of options on where to put them. Including front and center next to the GPS Combo.

A large radar or chartploter screen needs to go next to the Lowrance!

Do you have any pics online of your resto? I really like the looks of that Wellcraft!

Yup...I'd stack those puppies right beside the combo...very visible there and will leave plenty room for future additions...and Curapra's right!!...LOOKIN' GOOD!!...:beer:

There is room for a 10" Garmin if I don't put the gauges there.

I have two pics of the rebuild. Would of had more but thieves kept stealing my camera..

The more I think on it the more I think sealing the old holes and mounting the gauges there would be my best bet. Not in line of sight but then the Lowrance unit could also display my engine info with a little work. That way I will have GPS speedo without a paddle wheel.

Stack the new gauges in the middle and put an 8" Garmin stead of a 10"...maximum readability of the new gauges, saves money on the electronics and no one will never know the difference...I won't tell ANYBODY...:zip:

If you couldn't use the same holes .Then seal them and recut them in the same area to try to maintain the original look

I hear you about original Lathehand and Reel has a good point also. The 10" Garmin has never been more out of reach. I hate having to look down and right to see what the engine is doing at speed. Need eyes downstream if you know what I mean.
I have an idea that doesn't require glassing and painting, Dash panels. If I can find the right material. I could use a switch panel too. The one on the boat was made by my local trophy shop. I had them cut two and that was good because the material is too flemsy so I ended up doubling them up. It is functional but I could actually use two more switches. Maybe a splash of faux carbon fiber?

I've got a couple of individual smart craft gauges if you need them. The switch panel that was in my Proline was a Sea Fox panel, it was powder coated thin aluminum with the Sea Fox logo on it, I took the panel apart, flipped it over and used the back side so you wouldn't see the Sea Fox logo, It had a couple of scratches on the back side, I I painted it with a spray can before I put it back together
