Removal of throttle and shift cables for Merc.

I have a 1985 Merc 75 hp. (4 cyl.) and having a difficult time in removal of the throttle and shift cables. Attached are two pictures. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance,
Mike

I believe the second picture center bolt is the pivot point. You just pull the entire black piece toward the camera and it spins. Should be spring loaded pulling it in towards the block.

the first pic is an over center clasp, just flip it out at the top, it will loosen up and you can get it out of the way, the link at the rear pivots, just push down on the tab end and rotate. takes about 10 sec to get those out.

Removal of throttle and shift cables for Merc.

Thanks Csvencer and Spareparts for your help. Yes, it does pivot and the cable end (throttle) came off with loosening the center bolt and then rotating the cable holder out of the way. Is the shift cable the same (shift end)? It appears a center bolt has to be loosened and then the cable holder can be lifted slightly out of the way. It is located under the throttle cable end.
Thanks in advance,
Mike

usually they are left just loose enough that you can press on the tab and rotate the tabs out of the way, the shift cable comes loose just like the throttle
