Transom repair clamp question???
How long should I keep my clamps on my transom for after laminating it together?? 3 or 4 days? a week? Just curious if there was a normal amount of time to kinda let the resin set up and take hold.

Whachu talkin 'bout willis?
I was picturing the clamps on an outboard at first.... Obviously that's not right Seeing as I have a crappy memory ur probably are talking about something ur doing in another thread and I'm just a dope but????????????? EDIT: ok I found it now..... so you "glued" it in with epoxy right? if so then you just need to hold it till the epoxy sets.... That depends on the resin and hardener you used IE the 30 minute pot life stuff I have is fully cured at 80 degrees in about 15 hours if unsure test a bit of run... when it'd hard enough to chip you're getting pretty close to full strength |
Sorry SMOKE!!!! lol!! I fixed it. I reread it and it was very confusing.

It depends on what resin you used. Poly usually sets quickly, epoxy can take longer.

OK...you can take the clamps off now...:hi:
