Bent t top
Does anyone in nj know of a way I can get my metal s.s. Rail that surrounds the center console straightened out. I have a 19 ft polar that it was damaged when a tree limb fell on it and bent it the pipe is about 2inches in diameter , I live in Bergen county. Thanks for any help in this matter, and it's my sons boat not my well craft,

Well I'm not in NJ but my .02... If it were me I'd heat it with a torch and bend it back..... If you want someone to do it for you look in the yellow pages under welding or fabrication.... i wouldn't take it to a muffler shop... Too much chance of doing more damage

Un-bending a pipe...any pipe, is always a tricky deal... You have to find the exact center of where it's bent, and then apply force exactly at that point. If you're off even one degree your bend will be close, but your pipe will not be straight. My point is that it's a lot easier to find a metal fabrication shop and have them bend you a new rail then it is to exactly bend your rail back straight. :head:
PS I live in Passaic County but work in Bergan County (Carlstadt) |
