short and true story.......

so we're at my parents house the other day and i found an old 'BLACK SABBATH' cassette. my 13 year old looks at it and says "what's that"?
found it funny and sad at the same time. many things our kids wont know as the simple pleasures we took for granted.
they'll never see the connection between a cassette and a pencil. they'll never know the hilarity of a phony phone call.
i bought my house from my inlaws and we were cleaning the basement after irenes visit and we found an old rotary phone. my 9 year old couldnt figure out how to use it.
funny......................

That is funny Chuck.
Related; My grandson came across my old album collection and my 8 track cassettes. I ended up connecting the 8 track player to my stereo because he was having a hard time figuring out how they could work.

we were in a thrift store a few years ago and my daughter said " hey dad, come look at this old computer."

it was a typewriter

LOL for sure! On the flip side, I find myself asking my kids the same question about all these complex gadgets of today.

If I were president, I would do away with cell phones.

i'm with you in that one. i only carry a cell because it's company issued and we're required to carry it. somehow i lived to be 38 before i got my first cell phone. how did anybody survive without one? sometimes i think technology has gone a little too far. i often long for the simple days. actual human interaction is now a thing of the past.

Ditto CTT, I think I was 33 or so, definitely over 30 when I got my first. Like you the only reason I carry is because I'm on call 24x7x365 and it is company issue.

I miss be disconnected from the world while hunting/fishing or whatever. Also I hate to see the kids these days, heads buried in the phone for hours on end. I think it is sad. My kids do it too.....

I was born in 82' and I know how to work AND service a turntable.....because daddy showed me how........

Im still young and can't offer a ton of wisdom but your kids will never know unless you show them and teach them the value of it, not just a head shake and a "We used to..." story.

......Drums and Bass STILL sound better on tape and vinyl though.

Antares WILL be credited with the demise of the music industry, mark my words.......I could do pages and pages on this topic but I'll spare you:sad:

CTT...when my girls found my vinyl albums long ago, one said, Hey Dad...where'd ya get these big CDs?
