Block Island again 9-10-11
At 5 am my wife and I were passing thru the West wall just outside of Point Judith RI. The water was as calm as I've seen so the 18 mile cruise to the SW ledge of Block Island felt like a boat ride on the local lake. Once there and after checking a few favorite spots, I marked fish just before the awesome sunrise:

Looks like a perfect day on the water

And that's exactly why I love the Block! Great job. I am surprised that you didn't catch any trigger fish when you were out there. We caught some real fat huge trigger fish the last time out. My buddy said they looked like scup on steroids.

Now that looks like a productive fishing trip right there.....Nothing beats a sunrise on the water.

Thanks all
Shawsee, I'm also hooked on fishing Block Island RI, as you know the SW Ledge is quite a run out there, approx. 18 miles one way, well worth the 20 to 25 gallons of gas burned playing all day. I might go broke with all this fishing but from now on I'll be going there everytime the weather allows me to. No Trigger fish for us, on the other hand we must have caught and released well over 50 seabass that were just shy of being keepers. Can't wait to go back! |

I would trade that gas bill for those fish any day of the week. Two of the best tasting bass in the ocean. Congratulations.
