Gas tank re-location on 75 V-20 CC
I've read through all gas tank threads that came up in a search (42) and didn't quite get the information I was looking for so I thought I'd ask.
I must re-do the entire floor in my recently-purchased 75 V-20 Fisherman CC and want to re-locate the gas tank from the console (new tank) while I have the floor out. Can anyone tell me what size tank will fit (want 70-80 gals if possible) and how difficult it was to run new fuel lines to and from tank? Any info/advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, Kenny |

Look in the links section on this forum for a gas tank mfgr...they can make one to your finished dimensions... His caution may also have been due to the fact that the 70s Vs were not self bailing decks till 78 or so...I don't know, he was polite, but pretty adamant about not doing it...if you do it, pictures, please!!... |

I have a 74 center console that has had the stingers and floor redone and it currently has a 55 gallon tank which it handles without a problem. The problem I suspect your going to run into is where to locate the tank. MY 55 gallon is to far aft and is worsened by bracket I run, so placement and bracing fore and aft is critical. You can check my gallery for more details since I currently still have the front casting platform cut out. Kamikaze |
