Update on health issues
I have been fighting hard, and not easy watching the boat sit unused all summer!!
But I am seeing a dim light in the tunnel right now! As stated before I started the road to a Gastric By pass last Oct. When I started I was diabetic for 21 years and lots of issues because of it over 21 years!! High Blood Pressure, Kidneys getting ready to die, and so on. Well I have lost 20 pounds on my own from Oct to May, May 18 I had the bypass and have lost another 73 pounds for a total of 93 pounds to mu current weight of 228 from 321 I no longer have or take meds for Diabetes, Blood pressure, Cholesterol, and my Kidneys are no longer in danger! But I have 3 problems remaining, I have no Salt in my body and they have me putting it on everything trying to get it to normal, My eyes were another issue and I had a operation last year on the right side that has worked but not great, the left has been waiting and the doc says its time so in the next 2 weeks I will be having another eye op and we hope it will be better then the right eye when we are done?? The biggest thing is that I have Neuropathy in my legs and they are causing my vains not to pump blood up when i stand, so when i stand my blood pers. drops like a stone were i can pass out! So i have a walker, and cane right now, but it really sucks getting around!! Can't even stand to piss! So there is many good things but still a few issues to get thur, but after abusing my body for over 30 years I am doing ok in 3 months I think? Ok thats it for now, just thought I bring you guys up to date. The NE guys are not doing wel this year! I am out, Friend Kenny got a a fish poke are last trip out and was on IV antibiotics for 35 days and then they did a MRI and found Cancer in one of his kidneys, so he will be going under the knife very soon also for removal of one of his kidneys. I have another friend that has fished this year but blew his knee out and is going for a replacement very soon also! Not good to be a N.E. guy this year!! |
Hi MJ. Good to hear you're doing better.
I had diabetes related neuropathy and blood flow issues in my legs, but since I started taking nattokinase 4 years ago I haven't had any problems. Hardly ever have tingles in my feet now, no blood flow/clotting issues, and my hair has regrown on my lower legs. Here's a link with some info - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nattokinase |
Glad to hear you're doing better MJ. Do what you have to do man, listen to your doctor.

hang tough, mj. not near as rough as you've had it, but i've missed the last 3 weeks of scallop season with a staff infection in my knee. started with a stupid ant bite.
getting old is not for sissies |
Those in good health tend to take it for granted...I know I should do more...being over weight is a bigger problem than just being fat...I have a very close family member who fights it constantly w/many bad side effects and it will probably shorten their life and makes things more difficult til then...several people I know have had the bypass you've had, MJ, w/great result...
I'm glad to hear the good news for you and know yer a fighter and can whip the remaining issues...we are all rooting for you and always know we are here for you!!...take care, MJ and you'll be aboard the Ox next season... |
You already have half the battle won with just your attitude towards things. Keep it up mentally and stay on course medically and you will come out just fine. best wishes for you from me and my prayers are with you always.

Thanks for the update MJ. Progress is slow, but steady, which is good.
Praying for your good health, body and soul. Hopefully you'll be good as new for next season. |
I hope some time will be good to you my friend. You just need some time and strength, it will come.

Hang in there Joe...
