GARMIN is AWESOME!

A few months back my PC died an abrupt death. I was able to save all of my files from it, but I had to re-install my software for my GPS. I had a VERY old copy of MAPSOURCE since I bought it in 03 when I bought my GPSMAP76. I had trouble getting it to install since it was so outdated. Called up Garmin and an actual tech stayed on teh phone with me and walked me through how to get all of my old software to work and how to get the most recent updates for it to straighten it out. This is for 8 year old software that is beyond outdated, yet they still took the time to talk me through it and where to find the current software. That right there is customer service to be proud of. Just wanted to share how they took care of me when I know other companies out there would just say it's outdated and I needed to buy the new updates.

Glad to hear that it all worked out. Good customer service is hard to find these days.

Aside from some of the land contours being a little off I like Mapsource too.
Often it shows my crumb trail over land when clearly we were in the channel. In their defense Lowrance and Northstar does the same thing.
Good to hear there are still companies out there with some customer support. Now what are you up to? Installing a GPS in a new toy? Or just getting straight with the new puter?

Just trying to get my GPS working on my new computer since my old one died a horrible death(cracked CPU). I was worried I might be SOL since I had already had it installed on a PC before, and I had bought it so long ago. Couldn't have asked for more out of a company, and people who actually spoke english without an indian accent to boot.

Yea that is good and as a business owner its good to see and hear people post positive feedback and not just complaints:clap:

It is sad however that I am actually shocked when I call a company and someone answers the phone. Oh well, a little at a time........
