Did another salvage today

This boat has been sunk for over a year. The owner walked away from the boat and his house. It is a 30 walkaround Proline. It had a pair of 225 Optimax. We got title to the boat. My boss wanted to clean it up and sell it but he decided to just give it to a buddy of his. But before he gave it up I got the motors. They are both seized but there are a lot of good parts on them.

It really is nasty. But I guess with a lot of powerwashing and a lot of On-Off it could be brought back.

Knowing PRO-LINE build quality, I would be very worried about wet foam and water being where it shouldn't be. They make a decent boat, but from what I have seen there fit and finish leaves a bit to be desired. Them gearcases off them OPTI's oughta bring a chunk of change by themselves as well as the trim and tilt units.

That's just a damn shame to destroy something that many people would be happy to have and enjoy. It will be interesting to see if it is actually salvageable enough to get back on the water. Keep us updated with progress pics if possible.

i might have a use for the stator & oil alert module on the port engine, if the flywheel comes off, definately a long term project.

Pete, was that a deliberate sinking or did it just sink from rain water collecting in it, etc.? In all cases it's a crying shame to see something like that..
