Laid Around Today

...under the boat w/the power washer...

Got a LOT of the several coats of paint off

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y90...n/DSCN0985.jpg
But as you can see there's more to go, but I figure the more I can get off this way, the less I gotta strip, sand or dynamite off...I think some of these coats of paint were applied w/some moisture still on the hull...these little pea-sized pock marks kept poppin' up and I believe them to be water droplets that were caught in a coat of paint...
http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y90...n/DSCN0986.jpg

Here's the transom w/some of the pock-marks...ran the sander over them and they got smooth before getting to glass...

Well the last two pics got mixed up...pilot error...but you get the idea...

You ever wonder why we do these things to ourselves.

reel, what tip nozzle are you using? i had good results with a 0 tip wobble nozzle. it has the power of 0 degrees but moves at a random pattern so it won't eat the gelcoat.

good luck

That's the one I'm usin'...there's a LOT of paint...it's real fortunate the PW is gettin' as much as it is...

Road King Cole 07-28-2011 08:58 AM

how old was that paint? I mean, is that a fossil in the last pic?

Don't worry, it is very safe to get that old paint all over you, in your eyes and in your mouth. No need to even clean up afterwards...

looking good!
