Fluking or shortin' We hit the water today at 07:00 and you couldn't have asked for a better day. Went to the beginning of the Ambrose Channel, fished in 25'- 75' of water, nothing but New Jersey shorts, seventy seven of them. We had 4 real fat 19 1/2 inch fish, but back they went. There certainly isn't a shortage of Fluke anywhere, but from what I can see, just the ones we New Yorkers need. You guy's in New Jersey must be having a real field day on the Fluke!! |

I dont know....even at NJ's 18" minimum it aint no free for all catching fluke, (at least not for me anyway) but I couldnt even imagine having to deal with NY's 21 or 22 or whatever the heck it is. I think Fluke regs should be lowered....lower the bag limit to maybe 6 fish and 15" or 16" ...let people go out, catch there 6 fish and be done fishing for the day instead of catching and releasing a 100 fish to keep two. |

Fluke We don't have a problem catching 18" fish, it's the 20 1/2 inch ones that are tough. We would have limited out on Sunday if the regs for NY were 18. This time last year I had seven NY keepers at 21, now only two @ 20 1/2. :bat: Nothing else to do just KEEP ON FISHING!!! :sun: |

lower the bag to 6 fish? they just raised our bag to 3 fish. of course, at 20 1/2 inches, 3 fish is over 10 pounds. hell, i remember the 14 inch size limit in new york. back then you couldnt catch a fish under 5 pounds. now a 5 pounder is almost a short. |

We get a 10 bag limit per person and 12" minimum. One of the few fish that aren't targeted by the enviros. Probably just around the corner, though. |
