Anyone using a captain seat with a flip up bolster?

Just curious does anyone else get bruises on the back of the legs from that (darn) roto molded seat? Most of the time when we are running I stand up and no matter how far back I slide the seat I always come home with bruised up legs.

Thinking of a seat with a flip up bolster. They aren't cheap and I was wondering what everyone else does with regards to this problem.

I have that same problem. Not sure if I get bruised, but I get sore.

I've only looked at them and never found an "economical" one.

My butt don't fit in the seat that well unless I put one of those square flotation devices on the seat. I don't have that problem with the back of my legs, so I am guessing that helps.

I love the idea of the flip up bolster as I do most of my driving standing up. However, the prices of these things is crazy. Garelick makes a nice one but for $800. come on. If anyone finds one in the $200 range, I'm in.

The cheapest I've found is $299 but you have to order it from Wally world. It looks to be the same seat sold else where for $400. The bad things is the wait time for delivery to Wally world is 6 weeks. It's not a fishy style seat which is what most of the V 20 owners would prefer however it is cheaper and has a suspension system..........whatever that is....

I have one, they work great for standing up and driving or leaning on.

I have been toying with the idea of putting a single wide leaning post at the helm of my V......I stand up a lot too.

I have bolster seats in my v. I think they are worth the investment. Very comfy while sitting and much more room to stand and lean.

I ordered mine off Greatlakesskipper.com. or maybe Flounderpounder.com I don't remember which. You have to keep checking the sites as their stock varies. I made the bases out of Plywood, epoxy and glass (painted of course).

Here is a picture of the passenger seat.

Actually I have back to back seats on both sides right now---and they work well.

But I have a Seat out of a 07 Kenworth and waiting for the other seat and I will be putting those in--true air ride---then putting 2 other seats in--probabley just like the babck to back seats are now.

Project in progress.
