Value of 70mph 1988 V20?
 

Not for sale at any normal price, I am sure of that, but I am rather curious what this boats Value may be.

I am still cleaning it up, to bring its looks up to its performance. But, its a nice boat. Rewired, good stereo, with one 10 inch sub, w/ amp and cap. Fresh paint on the bottom, 383, good alumy heads, roller block w/ roller lifters. Bravo 1 24 pitch prop. Digital ignition, 5500rpm limit. Red light tach. First time out was 63mph. Expecting to see 70 this weekend. Perko switch system, and 1500watts of a/c power, making the live well a cooler...well, actually a refrigerator. With 150w max solar charging.
Kicker motor, 9.9hp....older?? Well anyways, that I think sums it up. Look at my other post, youll see a few pics of it.

This is NOT my boat. I built this for a good customer of mine, and actually my first furray into boats. So I apologise to any hardcore boaters who think I am nuts.

I am wondering what this boat is worth? I am thinking less than whats in it, but man, its his dream boat.....:love:

He had a couple requests.
First he wanted to run with bass boats, and be able to pull 3 skiers. He wanted better economy, yes, economy, it will live in the 2800-3200rpm *most* of the time. He wanted a stereo he could use at the beach, and wanted to be able to transform it into a *sport* boat, if you will, for sking, tubing, and family water sports.

I owe a huge debt of gratitude to SpareParts. With my *ignorance* and his help, it came together with the prop. Thank you SpareParts for answering all my newbee questions, and helping me thru this.

How's the boat ride with it ? Sits low etc.

Seriously? You bet your butt.

Built to last. Forged balanced rotating assembly, built for 6800rpm. Wont see over 5500. I fully believe in overbuilding, and under-utilizing.
The ride ......well, I have nothing to compare it too.
Speed....well, damn fast.:hide:

As far as sitting low, no lower than would have. It is a lighter engine by quite some pounds than the 305 that was pulled out.

I don't know about value. A good stroker motor with the right parts is not cheap to build unless you are a the guy that does the machine shop work. Probably more than double the value of the boat if not more.
So you don't own it, your just setting it up for a guy?
That is the best kind to go flog. Unless something breaks..
Then you own it. I see the weak link in the outdrive. Even the old 260 Mercruiser could give the Alpha fits. Maybe $8000 with the right buyer?????

I built it, all of it. From the engine to the wiring, to the stereo. And yes, out shaking it down before it is moved to its new home, Lake Erie. I may get one myself now though...LOL
