WANTED: Console and Compartment doors

Hi all, new to this forum. *Does anyone know where I can get compartment doors and a console door assembly (doors and frame) for a 1986 V-20 fisherman?

Best bet is to make them out of Staboard.

It's a CC. Will post pictures when I can. I'd like to try to keep it original but if I cannot locate the parts then I'll use starboard. Thanks all.

It all comes o what you want to spend, first do you have the old doors to copy??

They sell new teak doors at most boat places just need the measurements and you may have to do a little trimming. But they are going to cost some coin!!

Starboard is going to be a little cheaper and will last a life time! Easy to clean and maintain.

But Starboard lacks the nice wood coloring! And if thats what you after then go for the wood!

I am not a wood guy as i want everything easy clean!! and I hate having to oil every year or so, But the wood looks sharp!

I like the wood also but not willing to spend the coin. Right now I have some sub-flooring that was left over from a recent tiling job filling the void but will replace with starboard if I cannot find the original smoked plexy with the Wellcraft logo.

Re: WANTED: Console and Compartment doors

if you're good with wood, check the local docks, find one that is renovating and check the dumpster, the epe'( not sure on the spelling) wood the make the docks out of makes a good substitute for teak, its actually harder than teak. It is hard on the saw blade. Check the wood close, there is a composit decking material out ther that looks just like the wood, its so close the only way i can tell the difference is the real stuf gives nasty splinters before you sand it
