My 1994 Johnson 175, won;t go over 2000 RPM,9 MPH. (what a long ride).I have no alarms going off,tried pumping the primer bulb while underway.no difference. I was racing the motor up at the throttle linkage on the motor while hooked up to the garden hose in the driveway,I did'nt rev it up too high.do you think I messed up the throttle cable adjustment ?.Any ideas?

Check and see if the timing linkage is froze up. Sounds like your timing isn't advancing which will cause it to not rev under load but rev fine in neutral.
