Starz, you can give me a shout before you come and I will try to help. There is alot of good fishing grounds within 10 to 20 miles of shore and I can help get you started. You just need GPS and bottom finder. We have tons of artificial wrecks and natural bottom in 60 to 100 ft depth. You can fish the bottom or troll on top for kings. |

Awesome! Thanks for the hook up! I'll be out in the Jax area in June~July of this year. I have no clue when I will be able to bring my boat out... I'll try and bribe my dad that has a truck to drive out and visit for a weekend. My Jeep Cherokee will die if I try to pull it for 7 hours across the pan handle. I haven't fish the east cost before, so how is the wave action? I got a 18v Fisherman. Its a awesome boat for inshore and some near shore. The last time I taken it 20+ miles out in the gulf of mexico... It beat me pretty bad. That was in 1-2 foot seas with the occasional 3ft' er. |

I have no problem towing it around town, the problem is on the highway. The max speed I can get it to go is 65 that is going down hill. The 96 motors produced around 190hp / 230lbft ,and most dyno results that I have seen on the internet for that year was 130~140 on the ground with the auto tranny. So around 25-30% power train loss which is normal. If I re-geared the rear end to 4.10 I would have no problem towing it at highway speeds, even be able to use the over drive on the highway. |

I don't understand though. Like I said, I have the same engine in my 98' and I tow at around 70-75 with no problems on I95 when I can get away with it. :head: |

I think the problem lies in the t-top and what else stick up and around the jeep. It causes a bit of drag when pulling it down the highway. I borrowed a co workers 2500 Ram truck to bring it up here last summer. The MPG down w/o a load was around 22mpg. On the way back up it was running around 18mpg. I have no idea what the weight is. I know its less than 3000lbs or so. |

Ask Ferm about what he used to drag around with his pink jeep. |
