Lotta dough for a pre-'78 with no trailer

that "really a new boat" looks like a '73. that guy's not gonna sell that boat.

beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. a seventy year old man with a new heart is still seventy years of age. some may go overboard in thinking that whatever they own is the best. so they try and sell high. but my experience is if you want to sell you should start with a realistic price first. is Virgina in Australia? it does look very nice. almost new????:bsflag:

It looks like my '74...which could place it anywhere from 70 to 77...

I checked this boat out yesterday. It does have a trailer and is in pretty good shape. He hasnt had alot of interest at that price and i think it could be gotten for a fair price. what turned me off is there are two small fuel tanks under the gunwales and the deck has been redone without any scuppers in the transom. there is only a well with a bilge pump under the motor well. the deck didnt look like it would self bail anyhow but to expect a bilge pump of any size to evacuate a cockpit full of water isnt safe in my opinion

I think that was Wellcrafts standard design for a while....somebody will tell the years for sure....I agree would be the least desirable option.

Yup, that's the way not only Wellcraft, but most all boat mfgrs made 'em before somebody came up w/a self-bailing design...well, the Nina, Pinta and the Santa Maria were self-bailing decks...just took modern boat-makers a while to apply it to our size boats...and it IS a superior design, no doubt...but remember it's only a scupper-clog away from sinking, too...

The twin 20 gal under-gunwale tanks were used 70 - 77...no flotation in the hull to speak of and I recall reading here re peeps using multiple 1,000 GPH bilge-pumps as standard install...

That's kinda funny you put it in those terms...it wasn't REdone...that's how it came from the factory...I had a '74 (shown below) for about 10 years and no doubt was a concern to me...
