V20 Cuddy Size

Hello:

I am looking to purchase my first V20. Can someone tell me abut the cuddy cabin? A reletive size, or measurements if you have them. Even a "Hey im 6 foot and I can lay across" kinda thing. I see plenty of pictures, but none with someone in the cabin.

Thanks

Rob

The first pic is a buddy of mine. He is about 5'11". The rest are my kids from several years ago when they were b/t 7 - 10 years old. I have owned a mid-70's model V20 and now the 1994 V21. I can tell you the cabin on the V21 has a lot more room. From what I can tell it is because they moved the console/steering helm back toward the stern. I can and have slept comfortably in my V21 cuddy.

In these last shots (made after full remodeling of the cuddy) you can get a really good idea of exactly how large it is:

Not sure what year those were quoted for but you get the idea. For practical purposes I am 6'2" and my feet hang out pretty good through the door. I would definitely not be sleeping in there for the night but my wife has taken plenty of naps down there.

Forgot to mention I am 6'. Fully extended and feet do not hang out the door. There is a glass over plywood panel hiding the wiring behind the helm on the starboard side. By taking that panel out I could gain another foot of cuddy room on that side - but I don't really need to except when acessing wiring.

Those dims are from an 1986.....made that drawing myself...glad its still getting some use around here!

In my opinion, other than small kids hanging out in there the cuddy is not really functional for much else other than storage. Because of the flat top an adult has to do everything in there laying down....

Got a 63" length, a 21" wide hatch opening, 66" width to the rear, 8" width forward and almost 24" headspace.
Sounds small but I do know for a fact of two regular humans sleeping in it overnight and was happy to have been there instead of on the floor with the 4 others.

Oh, and that was the floor space. Taking into consideration the slope of the V, much more room!

Thanks for all the helps fellas!

The pictures were great and funny too!

And thanks for those who had actual measurements, the cabin would really be for the youngins and my fiance when she had enough sun for a few minutes. Might even do the porta potty thing too!

Thanks again!
Rob
