Skools, did that truck have any lift? Ive got a stock four door 99 4wd I am wanting to go to 285's and wondering if they will fit. Running 265's now and looks like Ill have enough room.

Although Ive always though the 2doors sat a little higher stock than the 4d???:head:

Skoolz, you may have better luck selling if you put a few more pics on your CL ad.

Ad says "make offer"

My offer is - I will trade you my wheels for yours. Mine have the latest state-of-the-art brake dust-etching pattern. :hi:

no the 285's won't fit a stock 99 4 door i tried them on my 99. they look good but didn't let it turn but 1/2 way. my 2 door sits 3 inches higher than my 4 door and the 2 door is stock the 4 door has been raised 2 inches

here's pics of my 99 with these chrome wheels and 285's

this pic is as tight as the tires would turn and were hitting

4 doors have a different front end set-up which is why they sit lower. If you measure em out, you'll find that the front torsion bars are about 1/2 the diameter and roughly 3 inches shorter than the others that GM used for full size trucks. This is why the 4 door TAHOE never received the 6.5L diesel as they just couldn't fit in with the relocated front torsion bar crossmemeber and didn't want to make new torsion bars to handle the extra weight. All of this was done because GM wanted to put the fuel tank in front of the rear axle on the 4 doors so the spare tire could go underneath to give more interior room.

Thanks guys...I thought they were different than the 2D....now I know why. My 265's just look small on mine...thought I could go bigger. I know the guy well that Ill be buying replacement tires from..may put a couple different sizes on it at the shop and play with it a little.
