My Mom passed.....
Hey guys, I guess I'll be off the scope for a few days as I just got the call today that my mom passed away....Not really an all of a sudden kind of thing but unexpected none the less. She had bypass surgery a year or two ago and has had issues with diabetes and Lupus for the past few years but everything had seemed pretty good all along....Of course she would never let us kids know anything as my family tradition was always to withhold information as to not upset anybody.
She went in for an endoscopy and colonoscopy 2 weeks ago for some serious heartburn and while doing the procedure stopped breathing and heart nearly stopped....put her on a ventilator for a day, got her off of it only to have it happen 2 more times in the next several days....after transferring to another hospital and doing cardiac tests found out one of her bypassed arteries was gone again and her right heart valve was leaking badly....had planned a valve replacement and another bypass for early next week once she got some strenghth back but had another "episode" today and died literally in my dads arms this afternoon after saying she was feeling faint and waiting for a nurse to get back. Definitely a surreal experience....I have my life and my kids and I will miss her badly at times I'm sure when I think to pick up the phone and give a call now and again but the empathy/sympathy for my dad is a reall killer....We always joked that my dad better go first because if my mom goes he's screwed......Fortunately my parents are both very active in their church and I'm sure their friends there will be great support for my dad. I just have to convince him to accept everyones help that I'm sure will be coming his way. Heading down to Floriday tomorrow so I'll catch you all when I get back. |
Sorry to hear that bro. Our depest condolences for you and your family.

sorry for your loss, RW. keep an eye on your dad, lost my mom 18 months ago and my dad seemed fine, but after 63 years of marriage, he is still hurting from her passing.
