Standard horizon cpv 350

Anyone of you Snaggers know anything about this unit, I need a new unit GPS and love the big screen, plus I wanted to add a second VHF to the boat so it seems like a good arrangement.
Can't find any reviews of the unit anywhere.

I have the CP180, Its a nice machine but a bit difficult to learn, Not very user friendly. small 5" screen.

I have been looking into new units myself and the Lowrance is looking great, CB has a older one he got in a deal with 7" screen and he likes it, a friend just bought one and loves it.

He also bought the Navionics charts and says it has great detail. Has a nice 6.4" screen
I believe this is the model?? I will try to call him and make sure as I am about ready to pull the trigger on one.

PS. we do not use the fish finder part of it, we both run Furuno 620, so I have no info on that part of it.
But the Furuno is awesome unit!!

Like MJ says, I don't like the Standard Horizon menu navigation. I don't find it as user friendly as some of the other manufacturers. This comes from using MJ's. The unit works fine, it's just the menus I don't like like.

How old is your unit MJ

I would avoid LAWRANCE if it was my money. There is ALOT of bad problems out there with them with warranty and tech support. I've used STANDARD before, and they are a bit more for the tech savvy people. If you haven't used one yet, the HUMMINBIRD side imaging stuff is UNREAL! And it is pretty easy to figure out.

yea I'm saving my sheckles for this one....ijts the least expensive humminbird unit with the side scan.....searching ebay hard you can find it for under 800....hoping to pull the trigger over the winter hoping it will come down some more.......800 bucks is a chunk of cash to throw down.

I guess this is where I step aside... $800 is a lot of sheckles.. and I can use them for my family more than for me. Do you know how many fish I can buy for that amount of money? I love boating, and fishing, but the only way I'll ever see one of those units on my boat is if my rich uncle gives me one... and .....alas... I don't have a rich uncle. <sigh> Can't say I'm not jealous though.. looks like a great unit. Still, I have my good old Sitex MKII widescan color fishfinder for locating the fish, and my Lowrance M56 S/Map that I use for the GPS side of things, and I'm happy.. so I guess it's all good. I miss my Loran though.... lol

My CP180 is 4 years old now. and was about $500

Destroyer that is a GPS combo, I like separate units, I have a Furuno 620 color fish finder with thur hull ducer at a cost of $1000 for it complete.

New GPS is going to be about $800 to $1000

When I first started I had a 12' Sears Game Fisher with a 6hp motor, in all I payed $300 and had a ball!
A friend that I still fish with, and I was talking the other day, and were saying its funny, we can't leave the dock now with out a $20,000 rig under us!! And he is looking at $40,000 rigs right now and thats used!

There was a time here when I was poor then dirt but some how managed to keep going till my motor died!! This site came together and raised all the money I needed to buy a used motor + shipping!

Thats why when I had the chance to take over the site or watch it get shut down I took it! And I am glad I did!!
