How to inflate a tire with WD 40
link must have changed??
wow, that was pretty cool.
 |
That's how we still get our Go Kart racing tires mounted. Some of the rims are long and low profile and the tires are shorter in length so we "pop" them on the rim that same way.
I have never seen that before. Pretty cool!
we have used propane to seat road trackor tires.

As a teenager I worked in a feed & seed store.
One duty was to repair or replace tires using a manual tire changer. After breaking down a huge troublesome tire I found a match stem inside it. Thought it was very odd how it may have gotten in there and showed my boss. After I patched the tire and mounted it, he came over with the acetylene bottle and a match and did the same thing. I never had the nerve to try it. |
I have seen it done with ether but never wd-40. Nice to know.
I heard air escaping after the mini explosion set the tire on the rim. Do you do that with the valve stem out, then you have to put it back in quickly?
We used to always do it that way. We usually used starting fluid though.
I use WD40 also as a starting fluid
