What boat to strap a 200HP O/B on?
 

I have wound up with two spare Yamaha outboards, a 1986 200HP and a 220HP. I want to keep them as back ups for the 1991 225HP I have on my boat now but in the mean time I figure I could look for a hull to strap one on to.

As it would be a second boat I'd want something fairly cheap and it could be a project boat but my fancy is that it be a speed baot that I could use on local lakes and such, a change of pace from my 25' Wellcraft.

Do you guys have any brand names and models that you can throw out so that I can search Craig's List and ebay? I'm thinking something like a Hydrostream but just poking around the innernet I'm not finding much.

20" or 25" shafted engines? If there 25" shafts you'll need a jackplate to run them on a performance type hull as most of them will be a 20" transom. Look for a CHECKMATE or BAJA or a similiar type hull. CHeck out www.screamandfly.com as there is alot of performance type hulls for outboards over there.

its a shadow sport tunnel, its rough, but its cheap, motor is locked up, let me know if you want any more details. I have looked at it, made a low ball offer and decided to pass(too many projects)

be carefull with hydro streams, there are three kinds of them out there, theres the kind that has had the core replaced, the kind that needs the core replaced, and the kind that peels the hull off the core at high speeds causing much pain and injury to the driver.
