Big enough motor for v20 135hp mrecury
 

Hi all is a 1989 135hp mercury big enough for the v20 or do you guys think a 150 hp should be the lowest

My opinion, yes. The 135 Merc v-6 is tough as nails and has a lot of grunt.

I agree with Ridgerunner. It may seem a tad small, but it's a good engine, will get you up on plane, and should provide lots of carefree boating.

I run a 98 Johnson 130. Not the fastest boat on the bay, but it does fine

I'm running a 91 merc v135 and it works well for me. In smooth seas I can get up to 35 mph but most of the time wind up cruising arouond 25.
