canvas snap help>>>>>>>>
 

hey ..can anyone olease give me some advice im going crazy...i removed all the canvas snaps from my mooring cover ....they were old and rusty...i bought new ones from west marine and a setting tool that looks like pair of pliers (not the vicegrip type) i also have a die and tap..very snap i set on the cover the shaft doenst roll over it simple turns into a sunburst of flower inside the cap..it effects the use of the snap..i cant get it right..what am i doing wrong...the guy next to me has a cover and all the cap snaps have a neat little rolled up shaft securing to the canvas cover and the snaps work great ....help thanks
