any way to use a 20" shaft motor on a bracket that requires a 25" shaft motor?
I am curious if theres any way to use a 20" shaft motor on my gill bracket that requires a 25" shaft motor.. Any kind of jack plate that lowers? Lots of 20" shaft motors around me cheap, but not a lot of 25"s in my price range.

I had a 25 on my V20 always wished I could have had a 30 just to stay out of the water some, no think a 20 is a good Idea

Is there any way to use a 30? There is one for sale near me here for a decent price...

You can do what I did I have a 20 inch transom I ran a Jackplate all the way up for the extra 5 inches and I run a 25 inch motor.........

Same way if you have a 25 shaft and want to run a 30' jackplate

I used one of these....

5 inch extension for your foot. Works very well. I went from a 20 to 25 on a bracket. |

The Bay Kit includes a
5" Shift Shaft Extension 5" Drive Shaft Extension 5" Water Tube Extension 5" Aluminum Housing (Spacer) Longer Studs I've used several of these kits on Motors before and they work well. The kits are $600+ . . . You can save some $$$ by finding pieces on ebay. |
