New Here - Bimini Top Question

Hi everyone, my name is Jared. New here, don't own a V20 yet, am looking currently.

Can anyone tell me what a good sized Bimini top would be for a V20? Is an 8' Length OK? What heights in order to be able to have a 6 foot person be able to stand underneath while moving and see OK? Any links, photos, info, stories, etc....welcomed.

Welcome to V-20.com...go back and look thru the Gallery on the opening page...I've been here since '03 and can still spend HOURS looking at what others have done to their V-20s...lots of tops there...

My advice is to have one built to fit--the factory bimini sucks. Here are a couple pictures of my set up. All hooked up with quick release pins.

Genie - That's a super nice top on your boat; probably more than I need at the moment.

Tsukabi - That's basically exactly what I want to find. Right height, I'd probably go with the 8' length for a bit more shaded area.

One other question Tsukabi. You said you ordered the kit in 48-54 height. But then stated you removed 6" from the height. Do you mean it's just mounted at it's lowest setting, or you actually trimmed the height? Would I be better off with the 40-46" top?

Look at their site.
The heights of the tops are able to be cut to work within certain dimensions within the lengths made due to the area needed to spread the bows evenly and fold/store neatly.
I think the 8' tops might be a 4 bow setup and will do the same accordingly.
Me cutting the height was to make the storage locations forward and aft work for where I wanted them by sacrificing the height a little.
For my boat the 40-46" wouldn't have done what I wanted, I needed the 48".
The main thing that comes into play is the height of your gunnel or attachment location height as to the floor level.

Thanks, I appreciate the insight and the help!
