best plase to order a water pump for a 1993 225 evinrude?
 

I'm getting ready to tackle the beast and see if I can get this shaft loose and change a water pump. Any suggestions on where to order it from? Thanks. Craigan.

I'm finding a lot of them for a 20" shaft, but can't seem to find one for a 25 in shaft...

There is only 2 different water pumps for the V-4 and V-6 JOHNNY-RUDE carbed engines. One is for the early models and the other is for late model(roughly 92 was the change-over). I normally use the late model water pump kits in all of them that I do as they tend to have higher water pressure. They're $70.29 + tax straight from EVINRUDE for the complete kit part #0435929.

I thought the difference between the 20 and 25 inch kits was the tube extension?

All of the factory kits come with all of the needed adapters for a 20" or 25". The early kits came with different adapters though than the newer kits do.

cheapest will be www.boatfix.com and go with Sierra Brand pump 18-3315-2 as they offer lifetime warranty if their product fails and causes motor damage they will replace the motor, and buy a complete kit as it includes the housing too.

I had one of there impellers fail in my 98, and also had a sierra fail in a MERCRUISER outdrive. I now stick with all OEM for impellers.

agree with ferm on oem water pumps. might just be my imagination, but the merc pumps longer & stronger that the "look-a-likes" so in my 150. i also change impellor & housing at same time.
