deck pipe/anchor set up
 
does anyone have a photo or description of the anchor set up on their v20..My anchor affixes to the bow deck and i have a deck pipe and 2 chocks...i have to put in a new deck pipe and ive heard to face it to the bow and to the stern...a photo would be great thanks

Hey Matt, I don't have a pic but my deckpipe faces neither bow or stern. It faces the port side.

I had that on Old School, didn't like it as it was tuff to feed the line back in and the line would sometimes get caught dropping the anchor if a loop happened to come up. the hole is too small, at least the one I had on the boat was

I think I would face it to the side also. I have one just like it on my 20' formula which faces forward, and it always blows open on the highway or in a real heavy wind. The open cap then allows rainwater to get in.

Same here Willy. Matt, I believe the side is your best option to keep out the elements.

This is my current setup with the deck pipe. I find it easier to pull the anchor rode from the cabin rather than stuffing it from the deck. I am planning to build a bow pulpit, so I am going change it.
