Winter Wrapping
Just wondering how some of you guys wrap your boats for the heavy snow fall. It seems that I come up with different frame work every year.

three 2x4 posts right down the center and up on the bow. Leveled to 5ft. above the deck. 2x4 cut to fit inside the gunnells perpendicular to the posts. 2x4 ridge atop the posts. Makes about a 12 pitch roof [45*] Snow sheds right off. A little snow can gather up in around the windshield area but not much. I let the ridge fly two ft. beyond the motor and about two ft. past the bow. Bungee her down nice and snug and your good to go. I bought a winter cover from Lumberslinger 2/3 yrs ago......made for the v20.....fits nicely, however, you cannot pitch it high enough to shed snow....but.....it's heavy duty enough to HOLD a lot of snow. Funny you should ask CaptJ.....I just got finished setting her up. My 09 season is officially over.

Thanks, appreciate it. I went yet another route again this year. Buttoned the Seventh Wave up yesterday. Like Christmas it is much more fun to un wrap her in the spring then it is to wrap it in the fall.

LOL j/k .....BUt I would like to see a picture of my old cover on your boat Pete...... |
My brother in law (previous owner) had built a large frame using PVC pipe. He "boxed" the radar and had pipes going fore and aft. These pipes were supported with braces on the bow and stern. Plenty tall enough for the snow to slide down.
:thre: I know, I was going to take pictures to show this contraption but before I could get the camera we had the thing covered. I'll do it come springtime. rkc |

Nice shed, what size is it? I've been clearing trees for a shed and burning BIG piles as I go.

that is the garage at my work. Yensen Landscape Supply. I work for my parents now that I have moved back to WV. The dirt (dust) in the garage can get pretty deep moving all the heavy equipment in and out all day long, so i wrapped her up like a christmas present to keep the dirt out.
