Rob and I finally hooked up w/cameras in hand at The Gigglin' Mackeral/Ocean Isle Fishing Center...

Some months back he challenged us all to guess the price a V-20 would sell for...somehow in a stroke of pure LUCK I got closest and won the T-Shirt he had put on the block as booty!!

THANKS ROB!!!

He was w/his vacation companion, Cleve and his family...plus Rob's wife (what a SWEETIE), and their two kids...his son made the picture, although I'm not sure he really WANTED to and their little girl just stold my heart(now THERE'S A REAL SWEETHEART!!:love:)
The whole crowd looked like they were ready to do some serious chowing down and my lil' wifey was expecting me to put the meat on the grill, so I didn't stick around too long.

Great folks and great to have seen them on the beach and again at the restaurant!!...You guys have a safe trip home today!

Well we made it back....14 hours....a heck of a bunch of traffic from Richmond to DC....one stop for my son to leave his breakfast on the side of the road and whole bunch of stops just for sanity's sake. I know they say gettin' there is half the fun but I've never heard a catchy phrase for the ride home.

The pleasure was all mine getting to meet my first V-20 fellow member. Even got me a ride in 1974 V-20!!! I must say the the senior gentleman from South Carolina is one heck of a nice guy as well as his family and I am priviliged to get to meet him in person. It was a real kick talking about other members and stories we've read on the site (the infamous V-20 in 8" of water in Sebastian story) It is kind of like you know each other pretty well even when you first meet.

Anyway...here are some pics of the trip. this was our 5th year there and we really do enjoy the area. I didnt bring my boat this year as I was not excited about the long tow from NJ but sitting a week down there without your boat is sheer torture.

It's funny...a couple of minutes after we 1st shook hands, I invited Rob to hop in the V and ride down the ICW w/me to retrieve my lil wifey and her sisters...he goes and talks to his wife and comes back and hops in the boat...as we are pulling away from the point, Rob's laughin', tells me his wife questioned whether or not he should be jumpin' in the boat w/someone he just met...LOL!! Understand her concern...I did however leave the bloody ax covered up in the cuddy :zip:

I do look forward to ridin' in Rob's V next year...sounds like he'll definately pul her down and I hope we can hook up for more fun on the point:party:
