External temp guage I don't have an external temp guage on my Johnson 150. I would like to have one so that I can monitor engine temps rather than rely on the "over-temp" buzzer to let me know when I am too hot. The question is where can I mount the sensor on the motor for an external sensor? I don't have a problem with the wiring or guage mounting, it's just finding a place to mount the sensor in the motor as not to hurt anything. |

I am a temp freak so I have two senders and gauges installed. Mine is screwed into two existing treaded hole directly on the cylinder head, opposite the OMC Buzzer switch/sender http://www.go2marine.com/product.do?no=85152F |

I like the idea. I was thinking about trying to put something in the middle to get total water temp not just one side or the other. But this will help to narrow and temp problems to either one side or the other. |

Single will not hurt but you may want to carefully drill a hole and tap it .. |

 Will do. Thanks. |

first what yr motor will help most have a hole already in place for temp senders |

ok then it's not a looper. look at the top of the heads for a fine threaded empty hole near the t-stats. that's where they are installed. |

I'll look tomorrow. Thank you. |

so what I am hearing is that my 1998 Johnson 225 already has a spot for temp send? I would LOVE to hook that up! :sly: |
