New V20......

......at least to me.

I'm new to the community and I'm going to pick up a '78 Steplift Cuddy with a Johnson 150 later today. Is there anything I need to keep an eye out for?

Hull looks good (for a 31 year old boat), no major damage
Motor has new starter, sounds strong
Only soft spot in the deck is the center panel that covers the tank
Transom seems stong, no excess movement when pulling on motor foot
Trim tabs, hydraulics gone
15 X 17 SS prop, no major damage
New water seperator/filter, as of yesterday
Needs some TLC; seats, paint, electronics

Trailor is in decent shape
Tires need replaced

Anything else?

I forgot to mention the boat comes with several more props, bimini top(missing parts) and other odds and ends.

Thanks,
Al

Not sure I know what that is. If its the paint on the bottom of the boat to prevent barnicals, then no it does not have it. I have been told that as long as the boat does not stay in the water for long periods of time, you don't need it.

Lucky you that you do not have the antifouling paint if you will be keeping the boat on the trailer. My V20 cuddy started life in Massachusetts and spent the summer at dock, so my Dad had to use antifouling. It now is in Indianapolis and sits on the trailer when not being used. I would rather not have the antifouling now.

Welcome to the site and have fun with your new toy!

Thank you.

I do live down here on the Gulf coast but I don't have anywhere to keep it in the water. So for now I'll drag it out everytime I use it then go home flush the motor and rinse the hull.
