Greatest Movie of all times
Listen when I was a little boot, my father would let me stay up late for only certain times, when any John Wayne movie was on and when the greatest movie of all times came on. My Dad, who passed when I was 16 told me that everything you need to know in life is in that movie. I bring this up because I just spent the past couple of hours sitting and watching that movie again for the umpteenth time.
You know something, he was right, just thought I would share that Shane, with Alan Ladd |
I have seen it before, but do not remember that much about it, other than the kid at the end imploring Shane to come back. I need to rent it and watch it again.
|
Nipper you should definetly rent it again

cant say i've seen the movie and who am i to argue with your father willy, but whenever the subject comes up i just have to inject the "greatest movie of all time".

Same here...I'll pick it up soon... |
Firstly, I haven't seen the movie for reasons unknown to me. Secondly, I don't know if you boys know this or not but.........
My name is Shane. A guy here at work recites the end of the movie every time he sees me. "Shane, come back Shane. Mommas got work for you Shane." I've always heard it is a great movie. |
Listen stating the greatest is obviously open to debate on many fronts I know. What the movie is is a very simply filmed, extremely well filmed, movie and it has some excellent life lessons in it, especially for men and as a young man was very influential on me.
Alan Ladd was a great actor, one of Jack Palance's first roles as evil incarnate and he was great. If you guys have never seen it you should grab a rental, your favorite cocktail and sit down and enjoy. Especially you Shane. And if you have a son, make his day if young and let him stay up late and watch it with Pop. I promise he will remember it when he is older and you are gone. |
I'll definitely watch it. I've actually been meaning to watch it for years. And, I'll make sure to let my 2 girls (9 & 11) stay up and watch it with me since I don't have a boy.

that would work just fine
