THEY GROW 'EM BIG IN GEORGIA

97 lb rattlesnake found in just north of Savannah

9 feet, 1 inch - 97 lbs. - Biggest rattler found since Ross Allen captured one in 1969
that measured 9 feet, 1 inch but only weighed 78 lbs.

This old guy was found inside a open water tank near an abandoned chicken house.

The guy holding the "monster" might weigh 97 pounds.
What you think Stink?
7 foot at best?
I've found them up to 6'9".

I don't see the picture...

he's not straining to be holding 100 lbs out in front on a pole.

tsubaki 05-13-2009 06:32 PM

I'm figuring, based on the size of his fingers, the pipe is 3/4".
That snake could be 4" across, well I got to do a drawing for the rest.

I'm coming up just shy of 8', based on the pole being 3/4" and the snake 4" across.

I don't care, this is a "the fish was this big" story!

The validity is up in the air as far as where...how big, etc....

The biggest DB on record was just over 8'.

Ive personally seen one 7.5 face to face down here...24 rattles and a button. (A guy killed it in front of me on the side of the road. His head was as wide as a soft ball.

Im somehow doubting this one was near what they say. I think the guy was a midget. LOL

Even going by the alleged length of "9.1" it wouldnt weigh that much. I have bros with 12'-14' reticulated pythons (way bigger body wise than a DB that dont weigh that much. A 90# snake is going to be 16+.

I think he's pullin a "hold the fish way out in front of ya trick". 6' at best

charlie_the_tuna 05-14-2009 08:33 AM
