making some headway

well i have laid down the final layer of prekote and will lightly wet sand this week so i can lay down the 1st coat of brightside (saphire blue). I will say this much prekote is some tough stuff for only being a one part. you can wipe it down with acetone and it doesnt break down.

youre right, the DA sander catches hell with 120 grit.

use a little more grip for better hold, i always use 80 grit on the boats i paint

oh yeah and a line sander will make the boat much straighter with less cupping, a DA will cup soft material like bondo and fiberglass.

i wish i had a line sander. as you can see the transom is cupped alot but im not worried about that right now because i need to do some glass work on the splashe well aboe it when its flipped and im sure resin wiill flow on it having to sand and repaint.
