How to cut starboard
I am going to pick up a couple sheets of starboard for a few projects, what is the best way to cut starboard, a jigsaw?
If I have enough left over I'd like to replace the dash, what is the best way to get smooth edges and corners, can you sand it smooth after cutting? This stuff is too expensive to not go in with a good game plan... |
Common woodworking tools should do fine, I would use a table saw if available.

Get familiar w/the joys of a router for the cleanest Starboard edges...inside curves and outside...3 different size roundover bits were used on this swim-platform and one 1" edger...Franco's right...make initial cuts w/ nearly any saw, but finish w/a router...and be ready to clean up a WHOLE LOTTA shavings!!...LOL!!!... |
High rpm's will melt it together.
A battery operated saw or a router that is variable speed works great also. http://www.wellcraftv20.com/communit...=specs&page=15 |

That's true...if you try to push the blade too fast...I did this bait-tank lid w/a 1/8 "stick" bit...either do 2-3 passes getting little material each pass or full depth and move VERY SLOWLY...2-3 passes works better... http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y90...Image003-1.jpg http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y90.../IMGP07822.jpg http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y90.../IMGP07772.jpg Love whadda router does to Starboard...:nice: |
