Have you seatrialed the boat yet?...is it a Center Console or Cuddy?...we've seen several CCs w/ large motors on brackets that sat TOO low at the stern...so need to know that before we can really say...would help to know year model also as later models were self-bailing decks and had scuppers...too much weight could cause a problem there as well...if you can be more specific about your hull, we can be more helpful...

Look forward to hearing back from you, welcome to the board and if any pictures of the V20 you're considering, those are always helpful...

my 79 wasnt too bad, but i had trim tabs which are a must with a stern heavy situation like that.

Probably not too much engine, but as Reel said, it could be too much weight. I have a dual console with a 225 on a bracket. I haven't run her yet, but when I had the 200 on it, she did sit a little low at the stern...
