how tight
I want to install a transom bracket plate on my out board cause i had to have a shop remove it to out on the steering cable, And when they put the top 2 bolts back on the left washer broke thru the gel coat[thats what you get for having someone else do the work
so how tight does those bolts go on? the top ones im going to seal it with 3m4200 and then the bracket, that should work what do you think |
well when i installed my bracket i socked them as tight as i could get them, same as on the transom.
If they pulled a washer thur, the wood must have been rotted there?? |
Yeah, what he said.
4200 is alright, 5200 is the best for all applications. A transom pour looks to be in your future. Pictures are expected!! |
transom pour? how about git rot
|
hey mac you installed a transom bracket too;didnt the aluminum cap get in the way?
|
Don't know if I would try Git Rot for a transom pour. Straight fiberglass with cloth or a pourable composite would be the stuff. Most of the guys here have used either.
Search and ye shall find, decide what you might fit your situation best. |
Nope no cap on mine, I had a I/O and convereted to a bracket, Had a full transom.
