1982 wellcraft V20 renovations

This forum and I-boats have both been a great help for me so I thought I would share some of my work..................

At the end of the fall I bought a Wellcraft V20 1982 hull with a 2004 trailer, Evinrude 200HP, and new GPS/Finder/radio. Got a great deal but the boat had been a bit neglected.

no problem I thought, checked it out, found a few soft spots in the floor but transom was sound. Made a few trips out in the boat and loved it. Gulf Grouper closed so i thought I would fix the floor............THat was the beginning of my hearache.........

I have been updating my pics and progress on I-boats.......check it out: http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=297511

I will keep you posted.........Questions and comments welcome!

Need to be done for Gulf Grouper opeing on April 1! FINGERS ARE CROSSED:party:

WOW , You did a wonderful job. I did a restoration on an 83 V20 just finish and completely re-gel , If you need any pointers let me know.
I like the work on the Deck (someday I may have to tear into mine) Seems like you did a skin removal correct ?

yup removed the skin from the bow and had to cut out the entire floor in the back.

bow repair

This is the progress on just the bow:

Cut out rotten wood

Learning to glass over 1/2" wood, should have used 5/8 to save some glass work:

Trying to level it out with marine filler, was tough because of the size of the area and my lack of experiance:

Covered in mat ready for gellcoat

Second coat of gelcoat!

NOt perfect but good traction and finish. I am pleased. With unlimited time and $$ I am sure that perfectly smooth and level is attainable but I need her done by April 1!

Looks great to me!!

Unless you a dock jockey like Lumber :nut: Who cares what it looks like, is a fishing boat so get her done and get fishing and leave the pretty stuff for the dock jockeys
