Kicker motor questions (Suzuki DT 9.9) Hi guys, I recently purchased a real minty Suzuki DT 9.9 tiller control outboard. It has a 25" shaft and will I have issues mounting this to my V-20? I wanted to clamp it down to the tramsom and, get one of those connector rods that enables you to steer from the front by using the primary motor. I could also buy one of them auxilliary brackets if need be, but I wanted to ask you guys first. This motor runs so darn good and quiet, it should make an awesome trolling/auxilliary motor. Also the mix is 100/1 but it says use Suzuki B1A oil or is it BIA? Can I just use the good old Wallyworld 2 stroke oil with the TWC3 rating? I also cannot find the age of it by the serial numbers. All the nomenclature plate says 725122 but then there is five numbers stamped in the case in front of the plate that reads 00993 ? Would this make it a 1993? Again it's a DT 9.9 hp I am slightly confused with this Jap made motor compared to my Johnny-Rudes. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks |

How awesome it would be to have a kicker with linked steering, power tilt, and electric start!?! That would be awesome. If I were thinking of doing what you have described I would probably start the anyalysis work on the steering linkage first. From there you should get an idea of how much room you have to play with when mounting the kicker. If you could find someone who has "been-there-done-that" I'm sure it would help. Congrats on your new kicker. Mine needs work from sitting. Blue |

Easily done Blue. I had this system on my Grady White. Connected my Evinrude 225 to Yamaha 9.9 kicker which was mounted on an aux bracket. Works very well. http://www.cabelas.com/prod-1/0030613010974a.shtml |

BTW; with this system, you can still tilt the kicker up and out of the water with the linkage still connected. They also have quick couplings on each end to remove the link rod. |

Cool CB....Shawsee, sounds like CB is your been-there-done-that man. |

This article is installing a kicker on a Whaler. I think it is very informative and I am considering a similar installation on my V. Check it out. Geek http://www.continuouswave.com/whaler...aT8Kicker.html |
