Macaroni, cheese and ham
 
Wife's sister asked for this.
I made it a few times, thought it was common knowledge.
Figured I'd give to ya'll first.

1 pound of macaroni elbow noodles
½ pound of spaghetti noodles
1 pound of grated sharp cheddar cheese
Butter
Ham (about ½ pound)
2 eggs
Cup or so of milk

Boil the noodles separately (with butter), drain and rinse with cool water.
In about a 3 qt casserole type dish (heavily, greased with butter) add elbows to the bottom, layer with about 5/8 of cheese, add ham layer pieces (dime to nickel size) evenly, add spaghetti noodles, layer remaining cheese, season with pepper on top.
Beat eggs and milk, drizzle evenly across casserole.
Bake in preheated oven at 350 degrees till top is golden to brown and liquids are clear.
(usually 45 minutes to 1 hr) remove from oven.
Best served when dish can be handled without towels (about 45 minutes).

I don't think I could wait the 45 mins...sounds pretty good to me...:clap:

Waiting lets the juices absorb into the noodles.
The spaghetti noodles gives a different texture and if done just right, a little crunch.
Extra sharp or mild cheddar will make it too pungent or too bland.
The ham addition was to make due with a little leftovers when there wasn't enough left for a real meal.

Sounds good Tsubaki. I did something similar the other day with left over rotisserie chicken. I cut up the chicken into bite sized pieces. I boiled spaghetti, and then in the spaghetti pot, I mixed cheese, canned mushroom and chicken soup, some chicken broth, cheese, sauteed onion and red pepper and the chicken. Threw the spaghetti back into the pot and mixed it up with the sauce. Poured all of that mess into a greased casserole pan, then baked it for about an hour at 350 with the last 20 minutes baking with some seasoned bread crumbs on top. It turned out to be very tasty.

Wait a minute....let's think about this for a second.

I have never heard of such a thing as "left over rotisserie chicken." That's a new one to me! You talkin about the bones Nipper? :head:

I love me some rotisserie chicken!!

We actually had a bunch left over because the wife bought a rotisserie chicken from Sams Club right before closing. They sell them real cheap at closing time. She got a whole chicken for something ridiculous like $2. So, after taking off a few slices for a snack when she got home, the thing sat around for a couple days and had to be used.

I'm just kidding of course. There is a restuarant that I hit on the way home from work once per week. They have rotisserie chicken and I always get potato salad, coleslaw and hushpuppies to go with it. Oh and a side of their homemade bbq sauce. Its $6.93 after tax. Gosh I love that place!!

That's a REEL good time to whip up a mess of Chicken Salad!!...:clap:

I do love that rotisserie chicken too. My wife did make some chicken salad out of some leftovers once before, and it was fantastic. The seasoning made it really good. The local Sams Club even sells chicken salad made from their rotisserie chix.
