Anyone interested in a trade

I understand that as much as you guys love your V20's this may be a bit of wasted effort but what the heck.

I'm looking to switch rides from my Mako to a V20 Cuddy. But I have to move the Mako first. With the current economic situation and the fact its the middle of winter here I expect that selling my boat now to buy another will be about as fun and productive as banging my head against the wall.

However, if someone here w/ a V20 is looking to move to a versatile center console, we might be able to do a little horse trading.

The quick details are: 1977 Mako 19B. 1995 Johnson 175 Ocean Runner, 1999 dual axle trailer w/ Disc brakes, posi-lube axles and swing away tongue. Except for one winter spent in SW FL this has been a fresh-water boat since new. The trailer has never seen salt water. Deck and transom are solid.

The boat and me are in Illinois but can travel for the right deal.

My preference is for a 1978-1982 with a 200 and 25" shaft but I'm flexible.

Feel free to reach me here or email [email protected]

I've always liked those older Makos, sorry I'm not interested in trading. Is that trailer capable of warp speed?

"Holy Bat Trailer, Batman"

I had a 74 19 mako before i got the v20 i have now. its a good fair weather boat. i had a 115 and it was definately under powered. i bet the 175 is a better match. i'm sure your already there, but classicmako might be a good post also.

Ya, those fenders are a whole lot funky...probably meant to match a bass boat, the owner's sunglasses or all those patches on their shirts. Don't think I'll ever understand those guys.

I was going to put something a bit more "traditional" on until I had the fenders off when moving the axles to adjust the tongue weight. Those things are built solid!! Almost more fiberglass in those than the little Checkmate we have for the kids to play with. No more bent fenders when my doughboy fishing buddies jump up on them while stashing a box of jelly doughnuts on board before heading out for a morning fishing trip. Plus they ain't ever going to rust.

I've got a V20 cuddy that is in nice shape, but it could use a repower. What type of $$ are you looking to get for the mako? Maybe you would consider a partial trade?
