Bout to throw in the towel...

So 3 strikes now. Tonight was by far the biggest headache. Hit the MMBT around 4:45 this afternoon and the current was moving, fishfinder was LOADED top to bottom. Worked Storms, Jigs and some Gulps. Bounced them off the bottom, skipped em across the top, worked the middle of the water column. NOTHING. That wasn't the worst...boat with 4 guys rolls in next to me around 5:30 and starts hammering them, I mean two at a time....I was pissed. I worked the bridge till about 6:15 and left in frustration. Oh, and the birds were working on both sides of the boat. What am I doing wrong? Wrong lures? Wrong technique? Wrong boat?

Any help would be appreciated. I am looking to go out again tomorrow afternoon but not sure it will be worth it.

What are you using for bait?

Where you trolling or jigging?

I went out today and fished within 3 miles of Rudee inlet and we caught our limit AGAIN. We trolled until we caught our limit and then when we hit a load of them we stopped and jigged.

Casting storm's, I think there "sassy shads" or something and Gulp mullets on white and blue jig heads. Didn't do any trolling.

i saw your post here and on tidalfish. my buddy and i went out last friday to the cbbt and got skunked on his alby 27. wirelined the tunnel and jigged the highrise and nothing.

i live in smithfield and work in yorktown. i will be off work at 530 tomorrow night, so i'm willing to go out with you tomorrow night but i'll probually be running too late for you. i'm by far no expert either but i'm not giving up either. this is my first year and i'm trying to learn as much as possible. i have only tried the mmbt once and got nothing like you sir.

i think the hrbt at night is the best bet. but i think the jrb, mmbt and hrbt should produce plenty of schoolies until there gone.

night fishing at the highrise of the cbbt with eels right now is getting the 40 and 50lb fish.

dropped my curtains off today to get them repaired so hopefully by next week i will have them on my boat.

should be going out saturday on buddies alby 27 trying to talk him into going at dusk with eels to the cbbt highrise and try to get some of these cows. if your interested in going let me know and i can probually get you on. we leave out of poquoson.

either way we should get together. name is Paul. cell number is (757) 303-5439.

I dont use eels much, I troll and then jig, Read the Poacher's web site his fishing reports are great but he wont give you much info for your own use, now on the other hand Russ his mate on the boat gives out info, if you keep reading you will pick up things (sometimes in code) they are secretive with their info but it's there you just have to read a lot of posting and you can get a lot of info out of it.

eels produce the fish though...
