Alternator Conversion for MerCruiser 470 3.7 Littre Engine Don't keep replacing expensive stators and voltage regulators on your MerCruiser 470, 170, 165, 488, or 190 4-cylinder engine! Fix it once and fix it for good by installing a real, self-regulating marine alternator. High mount system puts alternator on the cylinder head safe from bilge water; bolts up in as little as twenty minutes. Alternator warranteed for one full year. Call 617.699-2153 for ordering info. |
I have the 470, but could not imagine having 2 of them......
the alternator all the way up there would not let my motor cover close, I would have to cut a hole in it:nut: |
Just saw the add and thought it is a good idea if anyone could do it.
great idea, just wont work with my motor cover......
I can't tell for sure(can't see in the picture), but it doesn't look like it will work with power steering as well
Looks like somebodys home made kit, most of them that I have seen use a mount that puts the alternator down low on the engine.
O well another thing I found thats no good, :zip:
