ROTARY engine

For awhile they were putting some rotary's into boats. I'd like to put this one in a V-20. Even with the turbo and such I bet it weighs quite a bit less than a small block chevy. Although finding an outdrive to hold up might be an issue. Not to mention the turbo try to suck passengers through it.

I always thought that if you could marinize a toyota 22R engine it would be a efficient and dependable boat engine.

some guys in Austrailia were mounting rotary engines on top on merc outboard midsections, they had a vidio of a go fast single outboard running down the lake. It would be a good power head replacement option

Here's an inboard set-up in a ski boat doing 105. These rotary's are LIGHT weight compared to other engines in there HP class. A company out of NEW YORK was marinizing them for awhile, they were putting out 220HP supercharged and weighed in around 325 pounds!

down here that was actually a really popular and reliable engine for mud boats. by putting a closed cooling system with Keel cools (heat exchangers on the bottom of the boat) it was an awesome set up and you didnt have to worry about crap of corrosion of the engine block. alot of people would put then on either custom made hulls or kingfisher hulls. also a very good friend of mine has a mud boat with a mazda rotary in it, it can take on any v-6 v-8 mud boat out there. where the rotary has the advantage is weight againts the v-8's and 6's. unless someone put a LS series v-8 then it might be a different story.
