Have ya'll forgotten the reason we went to war over there? President Bush didn't say, "Ya know, the UN hasn't given us the approval yet, but gosh darn it we've got to liberate the people of Iraq." It was to remove a supposed "immenent threat" to the United States. While I respect this kid's opinion and service to the country - as well as everyone's opinion on the site, his political schpeel [sp] makes him sound as if he were born yesterday IMO. When we destroyed Iraq's infrastructure one could hardly argue that the Iraqi's suffered greatly after our initial invasion. Several lives and years later things are better but still no end in sight. Do we owe it to Iraq to rebuild what we destroyed - you bet. True, great sacrifices are being made and they are not in vein. The sacrifices we are making now are to rebuild what we destroyed based on shotty intelligence and a rush to judgement. As a side note you won't see me on here slamming McCain or Palin - that's not my bag. Nope, I respect and admire both of them but they will not get my vote. It sickens me to see all of the political attacks, of which the majority comes from the Republican side. I think Obama is right, good ol swift boat politics at its finest. Republicans just keep on proving that over and over. Sorry had to vent a little and I realize this won't make very popular in Republican V20 Land but what the hell. The First Amendment rocks baby! Blue |

Come to think of it this kid probably didn't even have his driver's license when we invaded Iraq so no one can blame him for not knowing how it all started. |

Hey BR, I think this video is prudent for the IRAQ war issues. It was not just REPUBLICAN's calling for action. Even during slick WILLY's time actions were being urged, it wasn't until 9/11 that the president was given the go ahead. I do feel that the IRAQ war and the whole war on terrorism was approached in the wrong way, but i don't believe our liberal society would have allowed it to have been fought the way it should have. My biggest problem with the whole war over there is I feel we went in with a tank instead of a scalpel. http://www.bercasio.com/movies/dems-wmd-before-iraq.wmv |

Right, there were democrats and republicans alike who bought in to the phony intelligence that invasion was the right thing to do. However these days most democrats acknowledge the mistake while republicans and Bush (especially) would never admit that the invasion was a mistake. |
